RMNP Wedding >> This is a wedding I’ve been really excited about for a while. When Mandee and Justin first contacted me about shooting their wedding, I was absolutely obsessed with their vision. They told me of a mountain wedding in a galaxy far, far away. But really, they were planning a gorgeous ceremony in Rocky Mountain National Park with a subtle galaxy theme, then incorporating Star Wars more heavily into their reception. I love when a couple can really let their personalities and loves shine throughout their day! Not only that, but the majority of the decorations, cake, and cookie party favors for guests were made by the bride and groom. These two put so much work into everything leading up to their wedding!
Mandee and Justin are the type of people that you meet and then instantly want to be best friends with. I so much enjoy every bit of time I get to spend with them. From their meeting up for their initial consultation, to their engagement session, to all the random times I ran into Mandee at Sprouts and she would show me little things she was working on for her wedding. Like the 8 million jewels she had to hot glue onto her hiking boots (what a genius idea though!) She thought of absolutely everything.
We had the coolest experience during their ceremony. All of the sudden, and entire herd of elk ran past in the background. They were all calling out to one-another. I’ve never seen anything like that, and especially not during a wedding ceremony! Seriously so special!
My absolute favorite part of this wedding day was the garter toss. Justin acted like he was going into take off her garter, when in reality, they had choreographed a light saber fight scene as a surprise to everyone. Literally the only people who were aware of this happening were the DJ, myself, and Mandee and Justin. I’ve never seen anything quite like that at a wedding!
Their wedding day was an obvious representation of the love and support they have from all their friends and family. The space just circulated with so much love! After their reception, including a light saber exit, we were able to go back into Rocky Mountain National Park for a few more photos around this couple’s favorite spot, Sprague Lake.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Oliver!
