Sprague Lake Engagement Session >> I always love when a session starts off with a twist! Trent messaged myself and the videographer a couple of weeks before our session that he wanted to give Kara her birthday present that day. Her birthday was the day before, and he thought it would be nice to capture her reaction. Especially it’s was such a sincere and thoughtful gift! Upon getting to our spot, he immediately pulled the gift out of his bag, and she was shocked! She had no idea! It was the sweetest wooden box, with an engraving on the top, and inside, was a gold rose. A moment doesn’t get any sweeter than that!
On we went with taking photos, and boy was it cold! I don’t know how Kara did it in that dress in the snow, but she never once complained! We hung out around Sprague Lake for a while before heading to other areas of Rocky Mountain National Park. Unfortunately a couple of the areas I really love were closed off after the fire, but we still a ton of really gorgeous scenery to work with!
Getting to spend a little time with these two and hear more about how wedding plans are coming was so fun! I always feel like an engagement session helps to bond me to the couple a little more, but especially when we’re fighting through cold together like we were this day, I feel super bonded! I absolutely can’t wait to shoot their wedding at Wild Basin Lodge this summer! That warm weather can’t come soon enough!
Check out this engagement session photographed in Rocky Mountain National Park this last summer, and this day after wedding session shot this last fall! My goodness, I just can’t get enough of the mountains!
