Engaged : Deana + Matt | Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement Session by Northern Colorado Wedding Photographer

I can’t say I’ve known Deana forever, and I can’t even say I’ve known her a long time. But over the past 4 years, she has worked her way into my life as my best friend. She supported me in the time leading up to my own wedding, and I’ve been with her as she struggled through potential relationships, first dates, and heartbreak. Through all of that, I knew God was forming the perfect man for her, as he was molding her heart for his.

 

While we had known of each other for a while, our friendship truly started when God threw us together as photographers. Me being pretty new to photography myself, it’s a mystery to me as to why Deana reached out with questions on starting a photography business. She wanted to buy a nice camera and wanted my advice on what to get. We met up for coffee that day, and since then, we’ve been figuring out photography together. Truly my business would be where it is today without her support, prayer, and love. Even though she may have given me the flu at a wedding we shot together, I don’t hold a grudge and I’m only a little mad.

 

In the time leading up to Deana and Matt meeting, I had been fiercely praying for God to bring someone in to her life. I specifically prayed that when God did bring her the right man, that it would not only be obvious that it was right, but that the relationship would move forward quickly. The day Deana and Matt got engaged, I told Matt exactly what I had been praying, and that he was the exact answer to those prayers. He asked me why I had prayed those specific things, and I told him that Deana had been waiting a long time for the right guy, that she had been patient in waiting on the Lord, and I knew that she needed it to feel right very early on for it to work. I’m just absolutely in awe of the way God answers prayers.

 

Deana and Matt are a perfect match. When she starts to freak out about something, he knows exactly what to say to calm her down and get her to think clearly. He takes care of her, leads her, and I know he will provide for her in their future. She loves his beard, his patience, and mostly, his love.

 

Since Deana is a photographer, I was so humbled when she asked me to do their engagement photos. I know they had the option to choose anyone in the whole world to do these, and they asked me. I cry when I look at these photos, because I’m so incredibly happy for these two!
