Brandy and Jake’s wedding was everything you’d want a wedding to be. This is the land Jake’s family has owned for generations, where a house has stood for decades, a house built from stones found on that land. This is where Brandy and Jake, along with their dog Ace, live. This is their home.

Jake runs a masonry business, which has been in their family for generations as well. The truck parked out front is a huge historical part of that, as is their family brand, HJ. It was so important to Brandy and Jake to include these elements in their wedding day, which mean so much to them.

Brandy started off her day getting ready in her own dining room. Her dress hung in the next room and her flowers were just down the hall. Meanwhile Jake, along with her groomsmen, were outside getting their barn ready for the reception. Brandy got dressed in her living room, in front of the historic fireplace. We stepped outside and did their portraits on the front lawn, with their home in the background.

Their ceremony was exactly what you’d imagine a Wyoming ceremony to be. It overlooked their land to east and the prairie made for a gorgeous backdrop. The clouds, while gorgeous, threatened of rain all day. It started raining a good amount about 45 minutes before the ceremony and continued up until Brandy walked down the aisle. Then, just as Jake saw his bride for the first time, the clouds parted and the sun shown! It was a magical moment that no one in attendance missed!

I can’t forget to mention what a big part of their day Ace was. He was involved in the majority of photos and just wanted to be a part of the action! Though interested, he was also incredibly tired and tried his hardest to be in the shot, but lying down or sleeping at the same time. Seriously the best dog to have at a wedding!

They ended their evening dancing to live music and hanging out with their family and friends in their barn! Truly a perfect day!
