Colorado Ranch Wedding >> What a day this was! Man, did Cori and Cody get so so lucky with the weather! On a day where there were tornado warnings and rain, they were still able to have everything exactly as planned.
Toward the end of Cori getting ready, while she was putting on her dress, it started absolutely pouring rain! I was certain we wouldn’t be able to start their first look on time and that the whole day would end up pushed back. But lo and behold, right as she was getting ready to walk out to the truck, the rain stopped. We headed to the first look location, and as we did, a tornado warning came across the radio. Being from the rural Midwest states that we are, it wasn’t of huge concern to us, so we just kept on going! We headed out into the pasture for the first look where Cody was waiting.
While it was really windy, we ended up being able to take a ton of gorgeous photos, including that really dark sky behind them. So so pretty! We wrapped up their photos together and Cori and I were hanging out in a camper while they were shuttling us in groups back up to the ceremony site. As we were waiting, it started pouring rain AGAIN! Cori decided at that point that even if it was raining, we were doing the ceremony outside. Rain or shine! That’s the kind of attitude I love in a bride! Luckily, the rain only lasted about 5 minutes and we were good to go! It didn’t rain the rest of the day and the wind let up. It turned out to be the PERFECT weather for a wedding!
I’m so happy I got to be a part of another crazy wedding day! It’s days like this that really make me love my job! Problem solving and working through the drama, and couples whose goals are to get married, regardless of what happens: that’s what I live for!
