Badlands Engagement Session >> What an absolute thrill Emily and George’s engagement session was! When she first reached out to me late last year with the dream of having their photos taken in the Badlands, I was immediately drawn to it! Spending a few hours exploring new places is definitely one of my favorite things!
My husband, Derek, and I headed up to Wall, South Dakota on the Friday before. We made our way slowly, stopping along the way to enjoy places like The Corn Palace and Al’s Oasis. We explored Badlands National Park and did a nice little hike before heading to our hotel in Wall.
The next morning, we got up and, after breakfast, went back into the park to explore a little more. I solidified my plan on locations I wanted to take Emily and George, and Derek and I hiked a little more. Later in the day, we all met up to start taking photos.
My goodness did we have a good time! It was a little chilly and windy, but honestly we got pretty lucky with weather! We drove along and stopped at the locations I had chosen, plus a few audibles I called along the way! The Badlands has so much to offer, and I feel like we got really good variety in our backgrounds! From soft, rolling hills, to jagged and spiky rocks, way up high to down in the valley, and all the colors! The Badlands are truly spectacular! If you’re looking for a shorter trip with some nice, kitchy stops along the way, this is the place for you! You won’t be disappointed!
