Emerald Pines Barn
Emerald Pines Barn is situated just outside of Sioux Falls and is the newest venue for South Dakota weddings. Named after the trees lining the drive up to the barn, the venue is the labor of love of Kristi and Jason Shanks. After being a wedding photographer in the area for over 12 years, Kristi noticed the need for something like Emerald Pines. “We really wanted to create something bright and open. So many of the venues I’ve shot in have darker wood, and we just wanted something different,” Kristi told me as she showed me the bridal suite.
Every detail was very intentionally planned and carefully put into place. From the groom’s den, with plenty of room for lots of guys, to the multi level entrances. They thought of everything! The large indoor space, with high ceilings and gorgeous chandeliers, is multi-functional. Couples have a few options. They can choose to have both their ceremony and reception indoors, or they can utilize the outdoor ceremony space just south of the building.
The grounds around the barn are just as gorgeous as the interior, lending themselves to the perfect location for portraits. Once a couple arrives at the venue for their day, there’s no reason to have to go elsewhere! From getting ready to reception, everything can happen right there on the property!
